Mandala Drawing Workshop

We are pleased to offer the first CREATIVE DISTRACTION workshop designed to reduce the stress of the current events through connection and creation. This workshop is open to anyone who would like to spend an hour with others via zoom making art.

The workshop is facilitated by David Lloyd Bradley and Tess Mosko Scherer. It is made possible through a collaborative effort of Arizona Artists Guild and Arizona Art Alliance. Create an image by cutting, tearing, pasting, sewing paper onto a cardboard or mat board backing.
Gather images and colored papers in advance along with an image that inspires you.

Draw a favorite memory from your youth

In this class we will create a piece of art from a fond memory.
Think about a time, place or object from your youth. Feel free to gather images or ephemera from that time period to use in your art or as a reference.

In this class we will create a work of art using the Present Perimeter System (1 hexagon, 3 half hexagons, 3 rhombuses, and 3 triangles). No prior art experience necessary.

About the Facilitators:

Bruce R. Sink
Bruce Sink studied art at Columbus College of Art and Design and he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Otterbein University. He has a passion for nature, is an avid outdoorsman and has traveled extensively around the globe and spent 3 weeks in the Arctic Circle.
He focuses his work on control of light, color, texture, brush strokes and composition to create dramatic images. His goal is to drive simplicity as it lets the viewer define their own story about the image. Art should reach each viewer on the level they relate to.
Bruce loves to teach workshops for the beginning artist, through skilled painters. Bruce understands composition, design, color, light and patterns. He knows it take a lifetime of learning and that being an Artist is a journey. He makes his home in Chandler Arizona and in Alaska with his wife Mary.


 

Tess Mosko Scherer is a professional artist, life coach, and community outreach co-director for AAG. Additionally she is the Executive Director for the Arizona Art Alliance.
Tess is motivated by the power of art to transform our lives and enrich our culture.
She lives on an urban farm with her partner, 8 chickens, 11 fish, and a dog.

David Lloyd Bradley
Professional artist and fine arts faculty, community outreach co-director for AAG. David believes art can help a person discover their creative power no matter their artistic experience or lack thereof.
