PHOENIX, February 7, 2017 — Arizona artists are invited to submit up to ten pieces of art for consideration in Memories of October and November on display October 6 – November 27 at the Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe Street in Phoenix. Prospectus

The 43rd Annual Sun City Fine Art Show is scheduled for February 11 & 12 – @ the Bell Recreation Center.  We welcome all Sun City residents with a current RCSC card to enter your original two-dimensional drawings/paintings that you have completed within the past two years.  This is a judged show sponsored by Artists by the Lake and Palo Verde Art Clubs.

– Herberger Gallery@Arizona Center showcases Arizona artists –
PHOENIX, January 17, 2017 — Arizona artists are invited to submit up to six pieces of art for consideration in the Edgy Art Exhibit, a 2-D exhibit on display April 21 – June 8 at the new Herberger Gallery@Arizona Center, 455 N. Third Street, Suite 1200 in Phoenix.

This exhibit will feature art that is daring, provocative, trend-setting, cutting edge and thinking ahead of the curve.  Edgy Prospectus

West Valley Art Museum’s Celebration of Artists 2017 entries are due on Friday, February 10.
The juror for this year’s submissions and exhibit is Guylene Ozlanski, MFA.
Original two dimensional works will be juried into the exhibit and will be on view at the Peoria City Hall Art Gallery from March 13 – April 20, 2017.  Entry forms, images and entry fees are due on Feb. 10. Prospectus
West Valley Art Museum



Due to overwhelming support, submissions are now back open for work to exhibit/sell at next weekend’s Phoenix Nasty Women Events (Fri 1/20 + Sat 1/21). The Wham West Gallery in Surprise, AZ is inviting you to enter our next juried competition called “Capture and Create” which accepts photography and 3-D.

The fee is $35 for 3 entries and must be submitted from Entry Thingy by Dec. 10, 2016. Accepted entries will be received on Dec. 30th and will hang from Jan. 2 – Feb. 13, 2017.

Glacier National Park is currently accepting applications for its Artist-in-Residence program.
The Glacier National Park Artist-in-Residence program offers professional artists focused time to creatively explore the natural and cultural resources of this astounding landscape. It also allows artists the opportunity to share their work with an international audience through educational programs and exhibits.

Each session of the Artist-in-Residence program offers the artist four weeks of uninterrupted time to pursue their artistic discipline. It also provides the artist with a furnished house located in the park.  The artist is required to present several public programs during their residency. The programs must be related to their experience as the artist-in-residence and can be demonstrations, talks, exploratory walks, or performances. Digital images of selected work produced as a part of the residency may be used in park publications, websites and presentations for education and outreach.

This show is open to all members (Alliance juried or not) in good standing of any affiliated AZ Art Alliance Member League.  The theme “Interpretatons” is open to inspire all Artists to interpret what they see, feel and hear, and apply it to their artwork.  ALL ARTWORK WILL BE JURIED.  This exhibit is open to all 2D and 3D artwork …all jewelry artists please apply.

International Online Painting Competition
Sedona Art Prize   
Location: Sedona, AZ
Deadline: October 31, 2016
Open to painters world wide over 18 years of age. It is a collaboration and partnership between The Sedona Arts Center and Gateway To Sedona. In addition to monthly and year-end cash prizes, the Grand Prize winner will also be offered the opportunity for a 2 week residency in Sedona, Arizona through the Sedona Arts Center (to be completed in 2018).

The Avondale Municipal Art Committee is seeking to purchase a “Roadside Attraction” sculpture for permanent display along 107th Avenue and Crystal Gardens Parkway by the Public Safety Facility, Fire Station 172. Professional artists are invited to submit examples of their work for consideration.

Public Art Project Invitation   
City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture  
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Deadline: December 15, 2016
Participating makers will craft individual gestures of gratitude in the form of flowers made from their own recyclable trash – plastics, aluminum, cardboard. Once made, these flowers will be assembled as a cascading textile-like display that replicates the seemingly unending flow of recyclables we generate and that these workers sort everyday.

Kino Creativo: A Desert Sea Experience for Artists
Prescott College Kino Bay Center   
Location: Bahia de Kino, Sonora Mexico 
Deadline: December 31, 2016
An eight-day field-based trip to Bahia de Kino, Sonora, Mexico in February 2017. There area is in the Gulf of California–one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet that has intrigued and inspired scientists and artists alike for hundreds of years. Short classes about the history, culture, and ecology of the region will be given; the rest of the trip will provide time and space for artists to work on individual or collaborative projects in a beautiful setting. Emerging and established artists of any discipline are welcome to apply.

Book Cover Exhibition   
Tubac Center of the Arts   
Location: Tubac, AZ
Deadline: January 23, 2017
The Book Cover Exhibition celebrates the fine art of judging a book by its cover. Artists are asked to create works of art for the cover of a real or imagined book; two-dimensional work only. Artists are urged to enter work that is innovative in content or approach. Artist’s work will be displayed at the Tubac Center of the Arts and then moved to the Tucson Festival of the Book for one weekend, before returning to the Center.

Sonoran Small Works Art Show
Presented by: Sonoran Art League
The first annual Sonoran Small Works Art show is a Juried Fine Art Show sponsored by the Sonoran Arts League and open to all Arizona artists. Accepted artists will be part of the Sonoran Small Works Art Show at the Red Truck Trading Company in Cave Creek, Arizona. Artists will be eligible for prestigious awards and prizes. Professional promotion, national publicity, sales opportunities and gallery space exhibition are included for all accepted artists.

Arizona State Fair
The 2016 State Fair has lots of competitions in Fine Arts and Photography. This year the Fine Arts competition will be much improved over previous years with new exhibit displays and lighting.
